2013 Review

2013 was the year I decided to stop doing anthology stuff and focus on doing some pitches. One of them paid off (will be announced later in the year). And I got to draw DD and Robocop. 2013 was a pretty amazing year.

(HUGE thanks to Mark Waid, Chris Samnee, Stephen Wacker and Ellie Pyle for giving me the chance to cross “drawing a Daredevil comic” off my bucket list!)

BOOM-Robocop-Hominem-001-riley-rossmo-ea750In February, BOOM! Studios will be releasing 4 one-shot ROBOCOP comics to tie in with the new ROBOCOP movie. One of those books, “RoboCop: Hominem Ex Machina” to be exact, is drawn by me. I provided the pencils and inks, Michael Moreci (Hoax Hunters) wrote it and Riley Rossmo (Drumheller) did the cover (seen above). It comes out Feb. 26th, so make sure to check it out.

2 Weeks

jcopland_bcyearbook13FinishOn September 7th and 8th, I’ll be at the Baltimore Comic-Con selling Kill All Monsters trades and prints. I will also have a pinup in the Usagi Yojimbo Yearbook that the good people of the con are putting together. Buy a book and drop by my table for a signature on it. Maybe even have a chat! Hope to see you there!

With about 29 hours to go (as I write this), the Kill All Monsters Kickstarter has almost reached $11K! But whatever the final total is, it’s already far exceeded our expectations. The support and encouragement we have received has been overwhelming. We’ll never be able to express our gratitude appropriately. To all those who have backed the project, spread the word and/or commented… Michael and I humbly thank you. You guys rock!

You can still get the book, if you miss the Kickstarter! It is available to order through your comic retailer. It will also be available via Amazon.com and Comixology, very soon! I’ll make sure to update this site with that info when it happens!

Thank you for all your support!
