The Warrior

Stewart and I built a Shogun Warrior out of paper scraps. It was a collaborate effort, he did the cutting of paper and pencil details on the mech, I did the stapling . We even designed it so you can shoot off the left fist! I’ll get a better picture of it soon. I also made a paper AT-AT that I will post… once I get the files from Jackie.

Truth Be Known

This one is a little odd as I don’t really like drawing westerns (true be known). Stewart and I were flipping through some of my old comics and one of them was a West Coast Avengers issue where Mockingbird is taking on some western dudes. I’m sure they were specific characters (as opposed to “western dudes”) but I didn’t notice any names. Anyway, I was inspired, I guess…

One Thing Leads To Another

Every Sunday here at Copland Estates, we have pancakes for breakfast. Today, while my 5 year old son, Stewart, and I waited in anticipation for the Tie Fighter shaped pancakes Jackie was making us, we flipped through one of the comics that lay on the kitchen table.

The comic was The Thing #23 and Stewart loved it! He particularly loved the scenes where Johnny Storm is throwing the pies at a frustrated Thing and where the Thing is throwing Mr. Fantastic around after learning he could have changed back to Ben Grimm, at any time (If only Tarianna hadn’t killed his human self while on the Beyonder’s “Secret Wars” world. D’oh!). Stewart then began to refer to himself as Ben Grimm/The Thing for a large chunk of  the day.

This one is for my little Ben Grimm/Thing.

I’ll Never Turn My Back On You (Father’s Words)

I’m the proud father of a wonderful (soon-to-be) 5 year old boy. Last night we were drawing and Stewart drew this. It’s a drawing of Darth Vader’s Tie fighter being shot down over a Rebel base. Luckily for Vader, he managed to spiral out of harms way after taking a laser bolt from  one of the Rebel canons!

That’s my boy!

Happy Father’s Day to all you Dadas out there!
