This is a commission I did, recently. It is a cover recreation of the Avengers #363 V1 originally drawn by Steve Epting (inked by Tom Palmer…?). This was the first time I’ve ever drawn the Black Knight.

There was a time in the 80′s when Hawkeye was my favorite Avenger. It didn’t last long, though!
And that does it for Avengers Assemble Week here at No Quarter. I was hoping to continue it into next week but my drawing schedule just got packed! Thanks for playing along!
Hawkeye was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck.

The Hulk. An original member of the Avengers. He didn’t last long with them, though.
The Hulk was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Avengers Assemble Week is 3 days in and I’m already repeating myself! Lame. Maybe I have to extend it into next week…? I’ll have a different Avenger tomorrow, though. I promise.
Cap makes a back-to-back appearance. But, while I liked yesterday’s drawing of the Super Soldier just fine, this one has the sort of action that really does Captain America some justice.

Avengers Assemble Week continues with Captain America!
I try to have these ready to go for the morning but I couldn’t decide between 2 different Captain America drawings to flesh out. So, instead of focusing on one, I ended up splitting my time and worked on both. That meant that I didn’t get one finished but had 2 half finished. Oh well… now I have tomorrow’s half done!
Captain America was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

Ok. There is this movie out right now that you may have heard about. It’s called The Avengers. It’s a good movie, apparently… I haven’t seen it, yet, but I know the source material.
In honour of the movie’s release and more importantly in honour of the creators that made these wonderful characters which in turn made the movie possible, this week is Avengers Assemble Week here at No Quarter!
First up is a personal favorite, The Mighty Thor! Thor has been credited as created by editor-plotter Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and penciller Jack Kirby.

I know that everyone one is talking about the Avengers, right now. And, I’mma gonna let them finish but Wolverine is one of the best characters of all time.
Ink and whiteout on paper. Grayscales done in Photoshop. The original drawing is available to purchase in my store. Only $25!
I was going to go with a different character than old Iron Fist here but the sketch I was going to ink from begged for more time than I had at my disposal. So Iron Fist it is!
I seem to gravitate to the “street” type characters, like Daredevil, Moon Knight, Punisher and Iron Fist, when I sit to draw superheroes. I don’t know what that says about me but there it is.
Ink and whiteout on Bristol. Colours and tones were done in Photoshop. The original 6×9 drawing is available to buy at my store for $15.

Sometimes I get into a character and sort of run with it for awhile. Daredevil is one of those characters that I can get into.

I’ve been absent… but busy! News of things to come will have to wait until they can be talked about. Until then, I plan on updating this sketch blog WAY more often than I have been doing. So, to kick it all off… Daredevil!
